In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Agree to Disagree.”
Tenuous but this is what my mind came up with.
Moments
By Scott Bailey © 2015
The world clashes with me
Or I with it
Its movie reel passes before me
And I watch
Observe
But I am not of it
Occasionally
I brushes me
Pricks me
Interrupts my view
My observations
And the things I should enjoy
I don’t
Until I can observe them
Again one day
My moments pass
Slipping
I can never seem
To be in them

A prime example of how poetry can mean different things to different people….
For some reason this makes me think of being behind my camera. When we go on vacation sometimes I feel like I miss being a part of the vacation or watching a live show because I am always looking at it through the lens. I am always “observing” when I long to “be in”!
Very nicely done.

I get that too! Especially when at kids parties etc. I want to record the moment for posterity as my memory is terrible, but I also want to be a pasrtof what is going on. I guess it is finding the balance – like so many things.
