    1. In the UK league tables are published to measure school performance. So parents can tell which are better. My anger is that this has simply become a way of life as well as a convenient way to group classes of people. Why aren’t we angry over the fact that all schools are not more or less the same?

      1. Mystery solved then. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain that to me, and I must say I quite understand your ire. I’ve thought for some time that nations which provide parity funding and common curriculum produce the best outcomes (Japan, etc.), and I believe all the numbers I’ve seen bear witness to the truth of that. Why it’s not universally adopted just on the strength of the evidence is beyond me.
