He would have been six today
Had things gone differently
Who knows?
Being nearer to the hospital?
Or some other factor?
That we can never change
So now
I remember you

Then shoulder the burdens
Of life

But I have been cutting out a lot of reading because of eye problems, Back to doing more now, so I followed you back from seeing likes on my haiku.

  2. Scott – the love of a father shows through. I too found this relatable. My wife and I had 4 children and buried two – one in in infancy and one just short of his tenth birthday. I’m 75 now and still bear the scars.
