There is a rising tide
It swells and grows
The recedes
Pauses and grows again
Lapping against the ancient
Castle
The stronghold
Of power
From long ago
Where gold grows
Around the feet
Of the rulers
Seemingly futile
The tide rises
Ebbs and swells
Eating away
Tiny piece by piece
Until one day
The stronghold will fall
