We need her lullaby
To calm us
But we can’t hear her hum
Over the bluster
We need her warmth
To comfort us
But the wind blows cold
From our souls
We need her solidity
To support us
But the earth trembles
For our fears
We need her
We don’t have her
We forsook her
For our greed
