Poem a day challenge #263 (Wide Water Wash)

Wide Water Wash

By Scott Bailey © 2014

Wide, water wash
Grey beneath the early morning mist
Chance sunbeams bounce and sparkle
River banks lost and blurred
Returning to their ancient ways
Unbound from man’s constraint
A gentle reminder of the eventual winner
Water wandering where it will
Free and unordered
Rolling seeping or swelling to the sea
Grasses, shrubs and tree swimming
Mirrored in their sudden still lakes
Expanding

OK – so the same theme as yesterday but I had to that one quickly and wanted to give it more time.

Poem a day challenge #262 (Flood Plains)

Flood Plains

By Scott Bailey © 2014

Rivers break their banks
Fields awash, people panic
I love the wide wash

Poem a day challenge #258 (Water Water Everywhere)

Water Water Everywhere

By Scott Bailey © 2014

The rich man on Thames has a sunken garden
Water so deep the duck house has floated
Away
So now
Money is no object for their relief
And the satirists
Whet their knives
