Against the backdrop of the stars
In floats
Frozen
Preserved
A book
One day
Alien eyes might find it
Decode it
Understand it
Learn about the world
That discarded such things
And why it died

Ah, I see it’s a Doctor Who novel. Will seek it out.

Haha. Outside of the interesting concept of the titular book, it was rather dull and all I can recall is a sequence in which one of the main characters, who is British-Indian has an electronically induced interrogation that turns into a Bollywood musical.

Sci-Fi. The titular book is a sort of directory for stranded space/time travellers. They write down their name and spacio-temporal co-ordinates down in it, and wait for someone in the future to find their entry and come rescue them.

The image reminds me of the cover of Paul Ebbs “The Book of the Still.”

Not heard of that. What genre is it? I would guess horror?
